SEMBA’s previous website was built on an aging WordPress platform that had become difficult to maintain and frustrating to update—something we see often with volunteer-driven organizations that need simple, reliable tools to support their mission.

We helped SEMBA transition to a modern Squarespace platform that makes it easy for staff and volunteers to update content, share event information, post photos, and stay connected with the mountain biking community throughout the Eastern Sierra.

Beyond the visual redesign, the project focused on creating systems that support the organization’s day-to-day operations. We developed custom membership forms that collect the information SEMBA needs when new members join and built automated confirmation emails that welcome members and provide details about their benefits and next steps.

We also created a custom rider and event liability form that can be used across rides, events, and programs, simplifying administration while ensuring important information is collected consistently.

The new website serves as a central hub for the organization, including a fully integrated e-commerce platform that allows SEMBA to sell memberships, event registrations, and branded merchandise from a single system. By consolidating these functions into one platform, the organization can spend less time managing technology and more time focusing on trails, events, advocacy, and community building.

To complete the project, we integrated the website with SEMBA’s email communication platform, making it easy to maintain mailing lists, automate communication, and keep members informed about rides, trail projects, events, and organizational updates.

The result is a website and membership platform that supports SEMBA’s mission, streamlines operations, and helps strengthen connections within the Eastern Sierra mountain biking community.
