FREE TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT EVENTS

A couple of years ago we were hired by Mono County Social Services to help them with a grant they received from the State of California - our portion of the work was to provide technology support events for senior citizens throughout Mono County. Over the course of about 14 months we hosted dozens of events at libraries throughout Mono County where we provided technology support to seniors - everything from learning how to text to setting up a new laptop to learning how to use a touch screen in their brand new car.

When the grant came to an end the program was put on hold until we could find another local organization that wanted to fund these events.

Enter the amazing staff with the Adult Education Program who were immediately interested in giving the program a home and additional support to help the program grow.

Even though the work we are doing in these events is completely different than what we normally work with clients on, we love seeing people become more comfortable and capable with technology. Plus, the reason that we work with so many organizations in the Eastern Sierra is that we love seeing the organizations we support do tons and tons of good within the community we love. In a way, this is our little way of supporting locals and making a difference in their lives.
