TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT EVENTS
A few years ago, we were hired by Mono County Social Services to support a grant-funded initiative focused on helping senior citizens become more confident and capable with technology. As part of this project, we hosted technology support events across Mono County for about 14 months — primarily in local libraries — where seniors could receive hands-on help tailored to their needs.
These sessions covered just about everything: learning how to text family members, setting up new laptops and tablets, navigating smartphones, understanding online tools, and even getting comfortable with the touch screens and smart features in newer vehicles. It wasn’t just about technology — it was about independence, connection, and confidence.
When the original grant ended, the program was briefly paused — until the incredible team at the Mono County Office of Education Adult Education Program stepped forward to give it a new home and continued support, helping ensure this important resource could keep growing and serving our community.
While this work is very different from most of our client projects, we absolutely love it. Helping people feel more comfortable with technology is incredibly rewarding, and being able to give back to the community we care so deeply about means a lot to us. In many ways, this program represents exactly why we do what we do — supporting local people, strengthening community connections, and making a positive difference in everyday lives.
